By connecting industry leaders\, innovators\, businesses\, scientists\, and government agencies\, the Ocean Enterprise Initiative fosters cross-sector collaboration to generate actionable insights and strategic partnerships within the global Ocean Enterprise. \nOur signature Dialogues with Industry series is a global forum connecting Ocean Information Value Chain stakeholders to explore new opportunities and address shared challenges. \n_________________________________________________ \nThe first session of the Dialogues with Industry series will explore the critical building blocks needed to make ocean observing more accessible\, cost-effective\, and globally relevant. Beyond sensors and platforms\, Dialogue 1 examines which enablers\, infrastructure improvements\, and breakthrough technologies can deliver the greatest impact. Topics will include the role of AI/ML in optimizing ocean data\, the return on investment from expanding observations in under-monitored regions such as the Global South\, and how accessible technologies can bridge persistent gaps. \nThe session will highlight emerging technologies—from microchips to quantum navigation—that could reduce the cost of ocean observing by one to two orders of magnitude. Participants will discuss criteria for identifying accessible sensors suitable for citizen science\, the potential of start-ups and blue-tech clusters to drive market growth\, and pathways to fast-track promising innovations into operational use. DESCRIPTION:Understanding the Ocean Value Chain for the Control of HABs\nDialogues with Industry – HABs Series (Dialogue 3) \nTopic: Advancing Control Technologies \nFormat: Each dialogue is carried out in a format of a 3-hour facilitated discussion with a moderator\, participants\, and observers. \nParticipants: Around 25 participants are invited to attend each dialogue and represent the public and private sectors along with specific disciplines for each session. The moderator interacts with the participants via discussion and chat functions and the participants can provide their input to the post-dialogue reports. \nObservers: Up to 500 observers are able to participate in the dialogues through the chat function and then verbally for the last 30 minutes.
